Originally tomorrow the 15th I was going to slide with Erin Pac (USA 1 - 2010 Olympic Bronze Medalist) but due to a slight injury we won't race together until the 16th. So I get another Great opportunity tomorrow to slide for THE FIRST EVERY JENNABREE's BOBSLED EXTRAVAGANZA with Bree Schaaf (2010 Olympian). Which is actually a really good thing because Erin and Bree's sled are the only ones I had the chance to view and sit in today.
At this time, I was planning on sliding with Erin. Her's is the one with the blue seat (blue sled as well). After the sleds were revealed, I jumped in and tried it out. There are foot pegs just beind the driver's seat on the lateral portion of the sled. They are optional pegs. Due to my long legs, they are uncomfortable for me so I just loosened them up and pushed them down so I would have more room for my feet. The seat is very comfy and it's quite snug! As I watched Emily Azcevedo prep the sled for tomorrow I noticed she was duck taping around her seat and the back of the sled. She suggested I should sit in her spot (the black seat on the left hand side) and I did. The back of her's is so that you feel more secure in the sled. She's created a padding around the back where your lower back/upper butt hits. So I went back to Erin's sled and sat in it again to compare and contrast and decided it would be nice to have a little more padding. Directly in front of the brakeman's seat you'll see pads that support your thighs and then immediately in front of the pads are the brakes. On the sides, which you cant see in these great pics that I took, is where you grab on - like a finger clamp. I'll try to get another pic before I die so you know what I'm talking about.
